A.C.E. Vanguard is my first novel in a series of at least three I've subtitled "Battles of the Invisible War". What inspired me to write it? The idea came to me many years ago. I use to enjoy reading the Guinness Book of World Records to see what was the biggest, who was the strongest, the fastest, most intelligent, etc. Human potential is a fascinating subject. Everywhere you look there is ongoing research to tap into the mental, physical and even spiritual efforts of mankind. I began to think of what could happen if the isolated and seemingly disparate efforts by scientific bodies, medical researchers, or even the backyard psychologist studying his maze running rat were to be centralized so that all of this information they had gathered could be run through one source, analyzed, and cross- linked to help bring forth new breakthroughs for the purpose of maximizing human potential. It would be much like a Homeland Security style effort. Thus, A.C.E. Vanguard
Most of this book was written about 20 years ago. I fine-tuned it all along, but the main ideas came forth then. I did not write this book to be prophetic yet most of what was sci-fi is hardly that now. And certain events that take place in it which I wouldn't have thought could happen are indeed reality.
A.C.E. Vanguard is also a warning. We need to understand things in a deeper context. Sometimes as individuals and as a society we don't seem to realize what we're getting into. Evil systems can become slave masters and personal vanity is a great catalyst to becoming a pawn. Without a personal compass, deception comes easily.
As I was writing A.C.E. Vanguard, I fell back on a biblical scripture: Ephesians 5:11: "And do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness but instead even expose them." Sometimes things are not all that they seem. This is where we can all get into trouble. We had better know or at least know where to turn in these times.
